Business Analyst

As Business Analyst you will be part of an expanding IS team who are working closely with all areas of the business to clearly understand and map the business processes and to make recommendations for solutions, these may be IS solutions or they may equally be recommendations for business process change.

This is a highly successful and expanding retail business, they are undergoing expansion through acquisition and natural business growth and are keen now to review how IS solutions work for the business and to introduce new solutions for today’s market and to allow for predicted business growth.

As Business Analyst you will work with a wide range of users from executive level to shop floor works. Your role will allow you to use your investigative skills and experience to explore the real issues and although you will be part of a team you will be encouraged to use your initiative to scope suitable solutions.

This environment does apply formal analysis processes and therefore some experience or aptitude to work in a formal manner will be helpful.

Project Support Co-ordinator – Administrator

Business is continuing to thrive and expand and there is now an opportunity for a Project Support Co-ordinator to join a team that currently provide support to the Project and Programme Management team.

In this role you will focus on the administration of project procedures, standards and documentation. You will provide administrative support for project planning and resource allocation and will generate reports for the monitoring and tracking of projects progress and risks and issues.

There will also be involvement in meetings to assist with project guidance and support the department in use of the systems

The projects you will work on are UK and international projects providing reports, dashboard and milestone information.

You will also organise delivery review, weekly kick off and other project meetings, issuing minutes and actions and co-ordinating conference facilities for these meetings.

You will also maintain a lessons learned director and will recommend changes to the processes applied.

There will also be involvement in the projection of standards and templates for use with Microsoft applications including amd Project Server and MS Office sharepoint.

Ideally therefore you will have good knowledge of MS PowerPoint, word, excel and outlook.

In this team you will design and document test plans, test cases and scripts. You will then execute tests, record result and produce accurate reports.

Your role will also include tracking and managing defect reports to closure.

There will be interface with the business when you are required to seek out information that is not currently documented, again training will be given in this area if it is something you have not undertaken in the past.

Technically we ideally need experience / an understanding of the structure of relational databases and some knowledge of how to interrogate oracle using PL-SQL , SQL or equivalent.

A good appreciation of the internet/web would be helpful as would some training in structured testing processes.

You will therefore work closely with the business both on current projects and pre- project activities

As part of the specialist Analysis team you will also work with other business analysts to establish best practice and promote those within the group.

Experience of project estimating will be helpful including proposals and change requests.

Ultimately you will directly instrumental in introducing new products and services on behalf of the business and helping the business to future growth and success.

UML experience would be a bonus however knowledge of the Internet/New Media solutions or an active interest in this would be required.
